We’re not going to give anyone a lesson about environmental consciousness at this point. We know that everyone knows about the dangers of microplastics and climate change. And though sometimes it seems like we can’t do much about it, we still can be conscious about our consumption and carry bags that are made of recycled materials.
Though not every bag on this list is made of 100% recycled materials, the makers still factored in environmental concerns. Here’s 5 bags are that made from recycled materials in one way or another.
1. Cuyana Oversized Recycled Sling Bag
This sling bag’s fabric is made entirely from landfill-sourced recycled plastic. It feels sturdy, like canvas, and can be washed in the washing machine in a mesh bag (though it has to be air-dried). It comes with a bottom insert that helps it maintain its structural integrity. You can get it in a small, medium, and a large size that will be enough to have all your items fit in. You can also pair it with a Cuyana tote insert.
2. Baggu Standard Reusable Bag
Baggu’s standard reusable bags are excellent for grocery runs and going shopping. Though they’re made with 40% recycled nylon, they’re still extremely durable and not to mention, stylish. Each bag can replace up to 3 plastic grocery bags and the best part? They fold up into neat squares so you can have them in your pocket in case you decide to do a last-minute shopping trip.
3. Longchamp Le Pliage Green Shoulder Bag
This is a great option for those of you who like dressing up, but don’t want to flaunt designer bags all the time. The Pliage shoulder bag from Longchamp is made from recycled polyamide canvas that comes from old fishing nets.
4. Lo & Sons Hanover 2
This bag is a versatile option that uses plastic bottles from fills. In fact, each bag is made from 22 plastic bottles turned into water-resistant polyester. It comes with a detachable insert with four pockets making it easy to transform into an organizational backpack.
5. Solo Re:claim Backpack
Constructed with recycled bottles, this bag is affordable with a price tag of under $80. Not only is it made out of recycled plastic, but the company also plants a tree every time a bag is sold. The bag’s paper tags are both biodegradable and manufactured from recycled materials. This backpack can fit a laptop that has a 15-inch screen (that’s very generous!)
