Anderson .Paak is a force to be reckoned with. The Oxnard, California native is one of the most talented and hard-working artists in the game. He has an incredible voice, can really rap, play drums like a true professional, and puts on one hell of a live show. Plus, his music is simply out of this world. His eclectic sound is fueled by a wide range of influences that include hip-hop, R&B, funk, soul, jazz and pop music.
Anderson .Paak has been around for a minute, but 2021 was his biggest yet. The 35-year-old singer, rapper and drummer joined forces with pop star Bruno Mars to form Silk Sonic.
Prior to the release of their hotly anticipated debut album, An Evening with Silk Sonic, the soulful supergroup dropped the hit singles “Smokin Out the Window,” “Skate” and the award-winning, No. 1 song, “Leave the Door Open.” Nominated in several 2022 Grammy Award categories, “Leave the Door Open” is up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song.
Most of us are already familiar with Bruno Mars, who has done everything from top the charts to headline the Super Bowl halftime show.

Anderson .Paak was born on February 8, 1986.
2. He’s a four-time Grammy Award winner
The critically acclaimed artist took home golden trophies in 2019, 2020 and 2021 in the Best R&B Album, Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best R&B Performance, Best Rap Performance categories.
3. He’s signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment imprint
Dr. Dre knows a thing or two about talent. He’s been credited with helping to introduce the world to legendary artists such as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, The Game, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson .Paak.
Following an apprenticeship with the multiplatinum super-producer and contributing to Dre’s 2015 album Compton, .Paak announced that he had officially linked up with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment in 2016.
4. He was an XXL Freshman
.Paak’s talent is undeniable! In 2016, he was included on XXL’s annual Freshmen list. It was a lit year that also featured Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Lil Yachty, G Herbo, Lil Dicky, Desiigner, Dave East and Denzel Curry.
5. He has tattoos of his idols
.Paak wears his love for soulful music on his chest, literally. The likes of Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Prince and Miles Davis are tatted across his chest.
6. He recently launched a record label called APESHIT INC
According to .Paak, he “wanted to start a label that sets fire to a new generation of artists, who can play while performing. This label is going to be about passion, about feeling, about honesty. It’s about respect for the culture and art and it’s about heart.”
