We already told you about 8 skincare ingredients to stay away from. And we know it’s challenging to sort out what ingredients are good for you when every brand is marketing as if they are the best of the best. So, we did the hard work for you. When shopping for your next grooming essential, or reviewing current ones in your medicine cabinet, look for the following 6 ingredients.

Retinol

The purest form of Vitamin A, retinol is an antioxidant guaranteed to promote the body’s natural production of collagen while increasing cellular metabolism. This allows your body to replace dry skin with healthy layers, lightening up or oftentimes fading away dark spots. Retinol helps tighten up skin and is therefore a great anti-aging product.

Jojoba oil

Fragrance-free plant oil that does wonders on dry skin. It is lightweight and will leave skin grease free.

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate

Great for sensitive skin or skin prone to acne as it blocks blackheads, evens skin tone and reduces discoloration. Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate also soothes out wrinkles and can be treated as a natural sunscreen.

Essential oils

Put simply, essential oils are plant extracts with aroma therapeutic properties.

Hyaluronic acid

Helps skin cells keep moisture when compromised with environmental factors.

Argan oil

Fragrance-free plant oil from argan treas. The oil has fatty acids, antioxidants and lips. Used for dry skin and hair.
