As artists and creatives, we often overlook opportunities that are just under our nose. Because we don’t want that to happen to you, and due to the major hit that the arts sector is having to currently survive and navigate, we bring you the best opportunities that August has to offer. The following paid opportunities for independent artists and cultural organizations are not to be missed.

Downtown Brooklyn Public Art and Placemaking Fund

This fund awards grants of up to $50,000 for public art and performance projects, as well as improvements to cultural spaces that connect neighborhoods, revitalize public spaces, and increase access to cultural programming. There is an application fee of $10 but you can contact dtbk.dri@downtownbrooklyn.com if this creates a barrier to applying.

Deadline: August 17, 2020
