Look, 2020 has induced enough stress to last a lifetime so I don’t blame you if drinks are in order heading into the weekend – especially after this long ass election week. For our Fire Finds column this week, we’re helping you kick back a few cold ones to take the edge off a little, even if it’s for a few minutes or hours.
Enter BAPE and Royal Selangor’s collaborative tankard and sake set. The duo first released these pieces on Halloween in Malaysia to celebrate BAPE opening their latest store there. Now the rest of the world will be able to enjoy these magnificent drink pieces.
For those who are unfamiliar with Royal Selangor, they are the largest manufacturer and retailer of pewter in the world. Based out of Malaysia, the company was founded in 1885 and their selection includes home goods, accessories and even toys. But their drinkware is most notable as they range from flasks to tankards to wine glasses to bar accessories.
This collaboration between the two brands introduces the Ape Head from BAPE onto the hand hammered finish of the pewter tankard and “A BATHING APE” embossed into the handle. The sake set follows a similar design aesthetic but the Ape Head is incorporated in CAMO form onto the bottle and glasses. Each piece comes in a blue 1ST CAMO box with an Ape Head on the front.
BAPE stores in the U.S., Japan, China and Hong Kong will release these limited edition collaborative drinkware pieces on November 7. Cheers! (And please drink responsibly).
