If you’ve been online in the last couple of weeks, you probably have already seen all the memes of Bernie Sanders at Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ Presidential Inauguration. Not only did the meme blow up, but even a week after the inauguration, people were still widely sharing custom-made images of his pose and everyone’s still talking about it. The Senator from Vermont socially distanced in his own chair throughout the ceremony and arrived in an extremely casual outfit. The internet obviously seized the opportunity and turned his unbothered pose into a viral sensation.

Seeing that his pose was ultra viral, Sanders, who’s not new to the world of memes, decided to do something about it. So he dropped the Inauguration Meme Sweatshirt. But here’s the catch: 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Vermont-based Meals on Wheels—a charity that delivers food to individuals who have trouble getting around or preparing their own food. This launch is a playful response from the Senator, but one that reminds everyone that there is a lot of work yet to be done. When asked about his opinion of the meme that was circulating and questions regarding his choice of outfit, Sanders answered: “Fashion? Let’s get to work.” And so he did.

You can purchase the sweaters via the Bernie Campaign store for $45 USD.
