I swear I’m not getting paid by Lamborghini to write about their collaborations (I wish I was though). But following up on their Xiaomi NineBot GoKart Pro collaboration which we featured in our Fire Finds column a few weeks ago, the Italian luxury sports car maker has teamed up with Canadian Dutch racing bicycle experts Cervélo.
Using Cervélo’s R5 road bike as a canvas, Lamborghini gives it a black, yellow and white livery that pays tribute to the Aventador SVJ and its Nürburgring Nordschleife production car record of 6:44.97 that was set on July 26, 2018. Further celebrating the legacy of Lambo, the limited edition bike will only have 63 units produced, which pays homage to the year the automaker was founded (1963). Parts are kept Italian-made on the bike and thus it features Campagnolo Bora One wheels wrapped in Vittoria Corsa Pro tires, a Campagnolo Super Record EPS mechanical assembly, Deda Elementi stem and Fizik Aliante saddle.
This is definitely a bike for the hardcore enthusiast but also a great collector’s piece. With a sticker price of $18,000, it’s more than some pre-owned or used cars. The R5 series starts at $10,500 in case you want to save a bit on this special edition but still have a top of the line road bike. But if you have the urge and means to spend, head over to your nearest Cervélo dealer/reseller to inquire.
