Do you remember that hashtag #myview or #outofoffice? People would showcase their current locations with a picture. Essentially bragging about their whereabouts, convincing you that where they were was better than your current location. Well, I use
to be one of those. And I miss it dearly.
I miss taking a six-hour airplane and being in an entirely different country. Or hopping on Megabus to visit friends along the East Coast. I really miss seeing the views outside of my four-walled, suburban house.
If you’ve been craving a vacation or just change of scenery, the Drive & Listen app is here to help. Created by student Erkam Seker, the app takes you on a virtual drive around 38 popular cities. Not only can you take in the sights and sounds of the street and people, but you can tune into a local radio station as well. On most of the tours, you’ll get to see famous landmarks – like the Coliseum in Rome or the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Originally a solution to Seker feeling homesick, it now also helps antsy travelers cope with the travel bug. It’s also a nice way to see a city you’ve never been to. Some tours include New York City, London, Istanbul, Beijing, Tokyo and Paris.
