Quite often, you see an item worn by someone on the internet, and you wonder where they got it from so you can get your hands on it. Many of us end up scrolling through the comments section trying to find some tags or any information from the creator, but gatekeeping is a big thing in the fashion industry. With the gap between tech and fashion getting smaller, Google Search’s new feature will make it easier for anyone to find fashion pieces or items that catch their eyes. Hurray, fashion enthusiasts!

Google’s Search tool now encompasses the ability to search through images, making it easier to isolate and find products. Image search is not a new thing, but you’re now able to find specific items in images and have the search engine lead you to a link where you can purchase them. It could be prints on a jacket, or a specific type of denim, or even a piece of furniture that caught your eye in a creator’s video that you took a screenshot of. You are now able to search and have Google seamlessly identify items and discover new brands.

While Google’s search bar essentially remains same, you may now scan an object or item, or upload a screenshot by tapping the camera icon. The feature will assist you in finding products that may otherwise be hard to locate, by finding the identical item or something comparable.

Here are some of the detailed steps available on the website:

“Your results can include:

  • Search results for objects in the image
  • Similar images
