New Gucci x The North Face collection wants you to go outside

Admittedly, when we first heard about Gucci‘s new collection with The North Face, we were confused. What do the two retailers have in common we thought? The North Face, known for their outdoor, sporty gear, and Gucci’s high fashion cult following surely couldn’t make a successful collection – right? Boy were we wrong.

The new collection released on January 6 is all about adventure – which sounds weird amidst a pandemic – but might be exactly what we need to at least feel like we are on an adventure. Shot by photographer Daniel Shea in the Alps, this collaboration features clothing (tees, sweats, quilted jackets, windbreakers), bags, backpacks, boots, tents, sleeping bags, and more. Filled with new patterns and a new logo – The North Face’s lined half-circle blends with Gucci’s signature green and red stripe – the collection also promotes sustainability. Gucci’s first sustainable collection last year with Off the Grid and The North Face’s active environmental principles were a main focus while creating ECONYL® — a nylon fabric made of regenerated materials like fishing nets used for the bags.

After viewing the collection (digitally, of course), we’re into it. We’re here for the diversity in models for the campaign, and the high fashion outdoor gear that feels chic and timely. You can view the entire collection view Gucci’s website.

The collection will be available online and in select Gucci locations mid-January. Until then, you can find product at one of the pop-up Pin stores below.
