Do we need it? No. Do we want it? Yes.

For some of you, the summer is BBQ season, or beach season or vacation season. For me, I love all of that too, but summer usually means car show season. I’m not talking about the plain vanilla car shows where they peddle next year’s model on you. The car shows you’ll see me turn up to feature one-off creations from owners who love the culture as much as we love sneakers, fashion, barbering, tattooing, sports, music and everything else. Unfortunately with COVID-19 this year, the larger sponsored gatherings have been put on hold, although some people have organized local get-togethers.

It’s because of my interest in cars that I stumbled upon this week’s Fire Finds item – a Lamborghini and Xiaomi GoKart collaboration. What?! Exactly. The luxury Italian supercar manufacturer has teamed up with the Chinese electronics company to create the ultimate quarantine toy.

Sitting atop a NineBot (the parent company of Segway) GoKart Pro body, the electric vehicle is capable of going 40 km/h (nearly 25 mph) via a 432 watt battery pack and comes in a loud yellow colorway. You can clearly see Lamborghini’s performance influence in the shape of the steering wheel, which features red highlights, and the display itself, which looks like the start button in your favorite Lambo. Further supercar-inspired design aspects include a low front lip, bucket seat for the driver, protective side skirts and a beautifully styled wing.

This summer toy might be the introduction into owning a Lamborghini that you never thought you needed. All we ask is that you drift safely. Head over to Xiaomi’s web store now to inquire about purchasing. Get ready to shell out 9,999元 CNY (about $1,450 USD), a steal compared to Lamborghini’s LEGO Technic Sián FKP 37 set which is $379.99 and doesn’t even let you drive it or a Huracán Evo RWD, the cheapest car in their current fleet, which has a base price of $179,000 USD.
