Before being dethroned earlier this month by Taylor Swift’s latest chart-topper “Cardigan”, “Rockstar” —the Roddy Riich-assisted single from DaBaby— reigned supreme on the Billboard Hot 100 for a total of seven weeks. The Blame It On Baby star’s lengthy stay at the top of Billboard’s singles chart is noteworthy, however it isn’t one for the history books. “Rockstar” isn’t even 2020’s longest-running No. 1 hip-hop track. Roddy Riich, who’s having one hell of a breakthrough year, held down the top spot for a total of 11 weeks with his banger “The Box.” Last year, another newcomer by the name of Lil Nas X set an all-time record after his monster hit “Old Town Road” landed at No. 1 and stayed there for a total of 19 consecutive weeks. Below, we take a look at 12 of hip-hop’s longest-running No. 1 songs.
