A modern approach to medication, mushrooms were ingested in the making of this article.
As an individual who has battled with my mental health, from depression and anxiety to PTSD, all the attention in the past year that has been building surrounding microdosing mushrooms in replacement of anti-depressants piqued my interest.
Oregon recently decriminalized all drugs and legalized psilocybin for people aged 21 and older, and Canada is currently conducting clinical trials on the use of psilocybin in treating multiple mental health disorders. Psilocybin is a chemical compound found in “magic” mushrooms that produces euphoric effects due to action on central nervous system serotonin receptors.
After multiple DIY attempts at “microdosing” mushrooms; from nothing but an upset stomach to an accidental full blown trip, which in all honesty was a great learning experience, I decided to stop blindly trying to medicate myself and do some research. These were my findings.
A true microdose is 0.225.
IMO and experience size does matter.
Mushrooms are best ingested after food.
Your body digests them just like anything else.
There are different frequency methods of dosing.
Some prefer 5 days on with 2 days off, while others prefer 1 day on with 2-3 days off. The cycle you decide on should be tailored to the affects on your stage of mind and tolerance levels.
