We are back with our October round-up of grants, residencies, and fellowship opportunities to apply to this fall. As part of our Dear POC column, here we provide resources for artists and freelancers who are looking for some side hustles. 

 

The Center for Craft’s Craft Futures Fund 

Application deadline 10/31/20

“The Craft Futures Fund will support craft communities throughout the United States and their creative responses to COVID-19. These one-time, unrestricted grants of $5,000 will be disbursed to craft-based education projects that seed resilience, foster community, and amplify impact.” Head over to their website to learn more about the application process. 

 

LyftUp COVID-19 Community Grants

As part of their response to COVID-19, LyftUp are piloting a new initiative called Essential Deliveries. “Through this program, organizations that need delivery services for essential goods — such as groceries, medical supplies, auto parts, and home necessities — are quickly matched with Lyft drivers, who can carry the deliveries out.” Click on the link to learn more!

 

Voice, Creativity + Culture Grants 

Application deadline on rolling basis

This grant aims to shift the dominant narratives about race, class, gender, and ethnicity, and encourages voices and values that challenge power dynamics and expands racial and economic justice. Visit their link to learn more about the application process!

 

Emergency Grants

Application deadline on rolling basis

Each month FCA makes approximately 12-15 grants, each one ranges in amount from $500 to $2,500, and the average grant is now $1,600. Visit their website to learn more. 

 

Halcyon Arts Lab Fellowship

Application deadline 10/12/20

This residential fellowship goes on for five months and supports emerging artists who create work rooted in social change. The selected artists will receive working and living space, as well as a $5,000 stipend. Learn more here.

 

The Bennett Prize

Application deadline 10/16/20

This prize awards $50,000 to a woman artist that supports in creating her own solo exhibition of specifically figurative realist paintings. Learn more here.

 

A.I.R. Fellowship Program

Application deadline 10/21/20

This fellowship supports underrepresented and emerging self-identified women and non-binary artists in New York City. The selected artists will receive a solo exhibition, professional development benefits, and more. Visit their link to learn more about the application process.
