This week’s Hot Cakes offers a large variety for all the things we love to do during the summer – play basketball, chill, floss on people. The selection also goes beyond just Nike and adidas. We’ve added in a very cool collaborative pair of Vans this week as well. So even though we’re still observing various rules and social distancing during COVID-19, our footwear game can still stay impressive.
Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG CO.JP “Tokyo”
This “Metallic Silver” pair is special in my heart because I was a huge co.jp collector back in the 2000’s. At the time, Nike was releasing Japan-only colorways (co.jp aka concept Japan) of Dunks and when these AJ1s hit, with their silver suitcase, it was a game changer. I’m glad they’re bringing these back for the global market, because my pair from 2001 was completely dogged years ago and trashed. Even though Japan is the only place getting the suitcase version again, we’re getting a big kids version this time around so you can get the little ones in the family something special too. These are a must cop and rock for me. – Matt

The Simpsons x Vans Slip-On Pro
Vans is celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Simpsons with a capsule collection featuring iconic characters and motifs. Vans has collaborated with the franchise previously and footwear fans will probably remember when they worked alongside artist KAWS for some of the rarest and most expensive Chukkas out there. My pick from this new lot are the Slip-On Pros, not only because they feature many memorable characters from the franchise all lined up, but also because it’s summer time and no one has time to be tying laces. If you’re a fan of the sitcom like me, you’ll probably want to either rock or stock these. You can check out the rest of the collection on vans.com. – Matt

adidas Dame 6 “Jam Fest”
This lime and blue explosion and bold iteration of the Dame 6 is set to be released this week in celebration of the 43rd annual McDonald’s All-American Game (McDAAG). This year’s edition, much like many other beloved events, was cancelled due to COVID-19. adidas’ Dame 6 “Jam Fest” is adorned in a lime, fluorescent green, and a bright cyan color scheme, completed in a split matter. A pair with “two faces,” it is completed with leather covered in blue on the medial and green on the lateral side. The midsole as well as the insoles have “Jam Fest” printed on it. This pair is definitely to be rocked and flaunted out on your next run. Pick them up from adidas.com this weekend. – Sahar

Human Made x adidas Stan Smith
I was reluctant to hop on the adidas Stan Smith train a few years ago when they became uber popular. Side note: they have been around since the ‘60’s! But a couple years ago, It seemed like everyone in New York City had them. Trendy IT boys and girls flocked the city as young professionals to dinner, drinks and nightlife. Loved for its comfortability and style points, it was, and arguably, still is – the shoe to have. Their latest collaboration with Human Made, features red hearts with “Human Made ” written inside and red backings with white logos. The iconic adidas Three Stripes strike the back corner and finish with vintage yellow soles. If you’re looking for a new shoe to take you around town that is easily dressed up or down, this is the shoe for you. To purchase enter the drawing on END. today. – Natasha
