Drink water!
First and foremost, we have to start with the facts: the adult human body is made up of 60% water, and your blood is 90% water. Doesn’t that sound a little freaky? Yes, it does. But here’s the catch: water is the single best thing you can consume for your skin.
Drinking water benefits your entire body in a million ways. Not only does it flush out toxins, prevent acne, and give you glowing skin, but it also ensures that your skin will be healthy and smooth as an apple. When you drink enough water, all the cells in your body get hydrated enough (including your blood!). Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and when it’s hydrated, that means all the impurities and toxins will be flushed out at a cellular level.
In short, these are the benefits of drinking enough water and being thoroughly hydrated:
- Your skin tone will improve
- Premature aging can be prevented
- Your skin heals faster
- All the puffiness will be reduced
- You’ll say goodbye to acne
- Your skin will be tighter
- Your pH balance will be maintained
- Skin eruptions will become a thing of the past
- And, your skin will be infinitely clearer
Now that we’ve listed all of these benefits of being well hydrated, here are the kinds of water that are good for the skin:
Lukewarm water is best for your skin as it is the most gentle and prevents shocking your cells. This is great for showering and post-shower skincare routines. On the other hand, water with a pH balance that ranges between 6.5-8.5 is the healthiest to drink. This is why alkaline water is great for you, as it comes with a slightly higher pH balance.
