It’s really starting to heat up in New York City, which can only mean more hot sneaker releases. With temperatures consistently hitting in the 80s this week, it’s finally time to finish off your summer rotations and grab some fresh footwear. Collaborations are king and the battle to be top dog weekly between Nike and adidas takes a backseat as BAPE and New Balance enter the ring. Let’s jump right into it.
adidas Forum Low “The Simpsons Duff Beer”
The Simpsons fans will instantly recognize the fictional Duff Beer brand from the beloved TV series. Partnering with adidas, the two have brought to life a Forum Low with the iconic red and black color palette of the made up alcoholic beverage and even given it a beer can look with synthetic materials. This is a must have for pop culture fanatics and also because the ankle strap is fire. You can cop on adidas.com and at select retailers.

Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Ghost Green”
This AJ1 Low silhouette is really interesting to me because of the minute modifications made that give it that extra oomph. Aside from the bright green color that adorns most of the overlay panels, a rare mini Swoosh finds room on the toe box, a checkered pattern takes over the tongue tab and an embossed Air Jordan Wings logo helms the rear heel tab. To be honest, these look like they’d be great tennis sneakers. SNKRS app will be ready to hand you an L this weekend.

CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “Cha”
Asian retailer CLOT is following up their “Kiss of Death” Air Max 1 retro with a new colorway on the model. Inspired by tea, one of the seven necessities of Chinese life, the new “Cha” (tea in Chinese) colorway actually came to life as a prototype back in 2006. Now, it’ll pay homage to history as well as tradition and continue to bridge Western and Eastern cultures. If you’re located outside of Asia (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong), you’ll need to find a proxy ASAP because these will only be available through JUICE stores.

BAPE x New Balance 2002R
BAPE is fresh off their adidas collaboration and already making more footwear moves with New Balance. Taking the 2002R model, which launched in 2020, the duo have effortlessly blended sports and street into one dope ass sneaker. BAPE’s ubiquitous ABC CAMO in the mesh combines with other materials like suede, nubuck and artificial leather to make these the coolest dad shoes of the year. 3M reflective material brings the “N” logo and shark jaws to life in light. These are going to be dope to rock or flip and will require a lot of effort and planning. Hit up your local BAPE chapter store and webstore to cop. There will also be a full apparel drop to match.

Nike SB Dunk Low “What the Paul”
Skateboard legend Paul Rodriguez has 10 signature shoes with Nike SB and to celebrate the historic run and endless list of accomplishments, the Swoosh has decided to mash a ton of iconic PRod products into the Dunk Low. The mismatched “What the” theme shows off everything from wild animal prints to Mexican heritage touches – all of which have been used on previous PRod sneaker colorways. “What the” colorways always perform well in the aftermarket and garner attention on the foot of the wearer so call your local skate shops ASAP or try your luck with SNKRS app.
