Rock, Stock or Flip? This week’s sneaker releases

This weekend will be slow in terms of sneaker releases as many brands have prepped messages around voting, which took place across the country yesterday and continues to cause anxiety and unrest as ballots are still being counted. Many of this week’s Hot Cakes will release early next week before our next column. Some classics are making a return and other iconic designs are getting remixed, let’s jump right into it.

Pharrell Williams x adidas Originals HU NMD “Yellow”

Pharrell’s classic adidas Originals Human Race NMD returns this week with a bright tonal yellow variation. Once again tying into his message that we are all one large human race, these have “Human Race” written along the top of the Primeknit in Hindi. I personally am not a fan of the silhouette because I have large wide feet but the message is super inspirational. You can grab these from various retailers through raffles and via adidas.com/pharrell.

Release Date: November 7, 2020
Retail: $220
Resell pre-release: $315 – $350

Nike Dunk Low “Veneer”

19 years after its initial release, the Nike Dunk Low “Veneer” will be making a return for the first time. Part of the “Ugly Duckling” pack back in 2001 that also featured the “Plum” and “Ceramic” colorways, these definitely stand out from the rest because of the color blocking. Autumn Green and Deep Purple mixed with the brown and white accents make this a must have fall and winter sneaker for any sneakerhead. Cop and rock, stock an extra pair if you can. Hit up SNKRS app and various retailer raffles.

Release Date: November 10, 2020
Retail: $100
Resell pre-release: $265 – $500

Levi’s x New Balance 327 “Indigo”

Possibly the hottest shoe silhouette to collaborate with this year, New Balance’s 327 now receives a Levi’s makeover. Arriving in three colorways, the “Indigo” version is my favorite because it reminds me of the classic trucker jacket and a deep denim allows for personal wear and tear. While the two tones of denim run along the lateral sides, the medial sides feature white and grey for a huge contrast and a gum sole brings everything together perfectly. A must cop for a denim sneaker lover like myself. Grab them through newbalance.com/levis.

Release Date: November 10, 2020
Retail: $120
Resell pre-release: N/A

Nike Air Max 3 “Radiant Red” aka Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared”

One of Nike’s most retroed sneakers, the Air Max 90 “Infrared” will return once again for its 30th anniversary. This time around, Nike has decided to use the sneaker’s debut moniker and its original design execution. Fans will be happy to see that the materials match the larger Air unit and tapered midsole foam just like the original. A hangtag will also be included so these are a must cop. SNKRS app will have a full family size run available.

Release Date: November 9, 2020
Retail: $140 (Adults), $115 (Big Kids), $95 (Little Kids), $75 (Toddlers), $50 (Infants)
Resell pre-release: $135 – $400
