Each week we’re treated to the return of iconic silhouettes and colorways of sneakers that remind us just how fast time has flown passed. While collaborations and new innovations help drive sneaker culture forward, I’m a sucker for all the great memories that retro releases remind me of. This week’s Hot Cakes features plenty of new and old so we’ll jump right into it.

Nike Dunk High “Orange Blaze”

Always a classic, the white and orange combination on the Dunk High evokes the OG “Syracuse” colorway that debuted more than three decades ago. With the 2016 version going for over $500 on the resell market, an updated pair at retail will be a welcome sight for many. In addition to this men’s pair, Nike is also releasing a women’s pair. You can grab a pair via Nike’s Draw system on SNKRS in an hour.

Release Date: March 10, 2021 (Today)
Retail: $110
Resell pre-release: $200 – $1,100

Carpet Company x Nike SB Dunk High “Royal Pulse”

Brothers Ayman and Osama Abdeldayem founded Baltimore-based skate shop Carpet Company back in 2015 to bring together the small skate community in the area. Their unique graphics and ideation process, as well as their Arabic background has contributed heavily towards their first collaborative effort with Nike SB and I’m in love with all the details. From the tearaway material that pays homage to screen printing to the yellow leather underneath and gum sole with branded graphics, this is one that’ll get better with each wear. Hit up SNKRS app to cop.

Release Date: March 12, 2021
Retail: $125
Resell pre-release: $500 – $775

Nike Air Presto “Crimson Siren Red”

I fell in love with the Air Presto silhouette back in 2000 as a child and now the model is celebrating its 20th anniversary. I remember the “Lightning” silhouette was my absolute favorite but not far behind was the 2001 co.jp “Rainbow,” which is set to return as a global release. I think it’s dope Nike is bringing back former Japan-exclusive sneakers for a wider audience and this is no exception. With a sunset on your feet, you’ll be able to imagine a tropical vacation – even if you have to do it from your living room for a few more months. Hit up SNKRS to grab a pair.

Release Date: March 12, 2021
Retail: $130
Resell pre-release: N/A

END. x Saucony Azura 2000 “The Brain”

Retailer END. isn’t afraid to get ultra creative with their collaborative footwear and their latest project with Saucony is further proof that they’ll push the boundaries of sneakers when trying to tell a story. Selecting the Azura 2000 silhouette, they’ve looked towards the human brain for inspiration on the highly paneled runner. The mesh upper is coupled with suede overlays that sit atop an EVA midsole and GRID technology. Brain-like pinks and reds fuse the upper, tongue and laces with the glow-in-the-dark outsole while a brain-shaped stress ball helps you take the edge off. These will be available through END.’s raffle, good luck.

Release Date: March 12, 2021
Retail: $159
Resell pre-release: N/A

Nike Air Huarache OG “Scream Green”

The “Scream Green” colorway was perfect for the Air Huarache when it was introduced back in 1991. To celebrate the silhouette’s 30th anniversary, Nike is bringing back the icon in its original loud and proud form. The neoprene upper of the sock-like sneaker – inspired by water ski booties – is a timeless classic nowadays that has been replicated on numerous models but will never be the same as the original. Grab these via retailers like END. before they’re gone again.

Release Date: March 12, 2021
Retail: $170
Resell pre-release: $300 – $585

Nike SB Dunk Low Pro “Gulf 58”

This pair of Nike SB sneakers will pay homage to an iconic livery from motorsport racing. Even if you’re not familiar with Le Mans or GT racing of any sort, there’s a chance you’ve seen Gulf’s famous baby blue and orange livery on a Ford, Porsche, Audi, McLaren or Aston Martin through passing. The famous blue covers the upper in the form of suede while the bright, instantly-recognizable orange runs along the outsole and the “58” gets a heel embroidery. A bold black outline of the Swoosh and midsole stitching add the final touch. Head over to retailers like END. to cop these.

Release Date: March 13, 2021
Retail: $135
Resell pre-release: $365 – $705

adidas YEEZY BOOST 700 V2 “Cream”

Honestly, it was only a matter of time before the 700 V2 silhouette from the YEEZY lineup got a “Cream” variant. Seeing as the 350 V2 “Cream” is one of the most popular colorways in the YEEZY BOOST offering, the latest Ye sneaker gets everyone into the spring mood. Coupled with the creamy white beige is a pure white midsole that hides the BOOST unit and shades of grey to complement it. This one will be up for grabs via adidas Confirmed app and yeezysupply.com.

Release Date: March 13, 2021
Retail: $240
Resell pre-release: $400 – $730
