Rock, Stock or Flip? This week’s sneaker releases

It’s going to be a busy week of sneaker releases this weekend with Halloween falling on a Saturday. Although there won’t be that same trick-or-treat spirit around NYC per usual, the annual Halloween Parade will be hosted online so that people can still participate. There’s nothing wrong with lacing up a pair of fresh kicks (all Checks over Stripes this week) from the crib to kick it with other creative spirits. Let’s jump right into this week’s Hot Cakes.

Off-White x Air Jordan 5 “Sail”

I’m a huge fan of the “Fire Red” colorway on the Air Jordan 5 so when Virgil added his own touches, I was stoked. Turning the upper into a creamy sail colorway combined with the red “23” on the lateral, “Nike Air” on the heel and mesh cutaway circles throughout makes this a must-have for me. It’s honestly way better than the black pair that released in February during All-Star Weekend. Cop and rock for days and weeks and months. Hit SNKRS app and select retailers for the full family size run.

Release Date: October 29, 2020
Retail: $225 (adult), $80 (little kids), $60 (toddlers)
Resell pre-release: $650 – $2,500

fragment design x Air Jordan 35 “Base Grey”

The popular black, white and blue palette that Hiroshi Fujiwara and fragment design have perfected on Jordan Brand collaborations is back again on the all-new Air Jordan 35 model. Previously, the apparel collection released alongside the AJ3 collaboration but this color blocking really brings out the details on this silhouette and I’d love to ball out next season with these on. I’m definitely in the cop and stock camp for these. Head over to SNKRS app and select retailers to get your size.

Release Date: October 28, 2020 (Today)
Retail: $195
Resell pre-release: $315 – $600

Slam Jam x Nike Dunk High “Clear Black”

I’ve been waiting for the release of these since I first peeped them last month. Every sneaker collaboration Slam Jam has ever released has spoken to elements of underground culture and the streets. I love the upside down Swoosh on the tongue and the multicolored laces on these the most. Small circular cutouts on the toe box and along the side panels highlight the translucent elements perfectly too, must cop and rock. Hit SNKRS app to cop.

Release Date: October 30, 2020
Retail: $120
Resell pre-release: $470 – $800

Air Jordan 1 “Black Mocha”

I’m not trying to say these are a rip of the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 colorway but I feel like they are. The “poor man’s version” of the La Flame collaboration is still a fire colorway nonetheless and one that I’d love to secure for days when heat isn’t called for. Nubuck and leather is always a win for me in terms of material combination so grab these if you have time and money this weekend. Most retailers will have these in addition to SNKRS app.

Release Date: October 31, 2020
Retail: $170
Resell pre-release: $240 – $400

Nike Air Force 1 “Skeleton Orange”

The third colorway in the “Skeleton” family, these orange ones might be my favorite so far. With the black silhouette of a skeletal foot running along the lateral and medial sides of the iconic AF1 shape against a bright pumpkin orange upper, the glow-in-the-dark midsole and outsole combination makes this a true treat. Cop and rock instantly on these via SNKRS app and retailers.

Release Date: October 28, 2020 (Today)
Retail: $130
Resell pre-release: $200 – $450

Nike Air Max 97 “Halloween”

This AM97 colorway literally drips into the spooky holiday season. With a dark color palette of black and purple across the upper, adding the oozing slime across the sides and on the outsole with glow-in-the-dark material really brings this pair to life. I’m not big on the 97 model but I would definitely cop and rock these. Head over to SNKRS and select retailers to grab a pair.

Release Date: October 28, 2020 (Today)
Retail: $180
Resell pre-release: $220 – $420

Nike Air Max 95 “Halloween”

Inspired by iconic Halloween horror villain Freddy Kreuger, this colorway of the AM95 perfectly blends two-tone red and tan across the sides while incorporating grey suede on the toe box. Graphics of blood appear on the heel tab, tongue pull and even on the insole while red Air units really make the sneaker pop. These are a must have and it appears they’re only available in Europe at retailers like END., SEVENSTORE and Asphaltgold.

Release Date: October 31, 2020
Retail: $225
Resell pre-release: $1,100 – $3,300

Nike Air Trainer 3 “New Orchid”

At first glance these might look like a plain red and black colorway of the highly underrated Air Trainer 3 model but these are in fact inspired by Dracula himself. The vampire colorway adds some purple on the sockliner and a graphic of the blood sucker on the insole. I like black and red colorways on anything so these would go on feet in an instant. Head over to SNKRS app to cop.

Release Date: October 28, 2020 (Today)
Retail: $130
Resell pre-release: $170 – $500
