Spring is the perfect time to break out footwear that you saved up during the colder months for hiking, running, errands, picnics and more. This week’s Hot Cakes selection offers a bright and electric selection of sneakers for those looking to make a statement a year after COVID-19 forced us indoors. Let’s jump right into it.
adidas Originals 4D Fusio “Core Black/Grey Six/Core Black”
The future of sneakers lies in digitally printing and adidas has mastered that over the last few years. Using their 4D printed midsole technology, they’ve created another stunner in the form of this Fusio runner. It’s amazing that the right combination of light, oxygen and liquid resin can create a multicolor midsole. The colored midsole pairs perfectly with a black Primeknit upper and a crisscross lacing system. These are definitely a pair I’d recommend for personal use – I love running in 4D sneakers and highly recommend it. Hit up adidas.com to cop.

Skepta x Nike Air Max Tailwind 5 “Black/Chrome”
Skepta has done a handful of collaborations with Nike on various Air Max silhouettes and he’s never struck out. The British grime star understands the Air Max game better than most and is returning with another banger of a colorway on the classic Tailwind 5 model. For his 5th SK Air collaboration, he’s “connection the metamorphosis that butterflies undergo and the role of creative rebirth in his career.” The blue butterfly color as well as the shape of the sneaker all tie together for a sick combination. Whether you want to rock or hold, these will be hard to get since they’re European and Asian Pacific exclusives. Retailers like END. have them available through raffle with the matching track jacket, track pants and bucket hat set.

I like the message and I like the fact that you can dress these up or down. Every pair that comes out from Vault by Vans uses the most premium materials so these are definitely a cop and rock. Following a classic ACG “Terra”-inspired colorway on the Dunk Low last year, Nike SB returns with another pair inspired by ACG roots, the “Celadon.” Bright blue has always played a part in being seen on the trails and the new low-top colorway marries the colors onto suede perfectly. Dunks are still a great quick flip option for those that want to score $100+ off a release immediately. If you’re trying to make some extra cheddar, you’ll have to look for these abroad at retailers like END. via raffle.

This time around, his other brand, Wasted Youth, is the focus of the Dunk Low. You can instantly identify the punk influence in this pair – patchwork denim, uneven stitching, a D-ring belt-inspired heel accessory and a rose graphic. One of the many benefits of being King James and part of team Nike are the PEs. In addition to showing off his Air Max collection over the weekend for Air Max Day, Bron also previewed multiple Air Max 95s inspired by Lakers colors. Now, the “Home Team” edition will release to fans. We’ve seen this colorway have a lot of success on LBJ’s signature sneakers and expect the same for the iconic AM95 model.
