After raising $60 million in a Series D funding round back in July, Squire was valued at around $750 million. Now, the company has made Forbes’ “Next Billion-Dollar Startups 2021” list.

We’re proud of our parent company for not only garnering attention and diversity for people of color, but also for paving a road of innovation in the tech sector. With $143 million raised, founders Songe LaRon and Dave Salvant have brought in investors like Charles River Ventures (CRV), ICONIQ Capital, Tiger Global and Trinity Ventures.

ICONIQ Capital invests and has invested on behalf of big names like Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, Will Smith, Quincy Jones, Tom Hanks, Justin Timberlake and more.

CEO Songe LaRon was quoted in the piece saying:

“We have to start putting money earlier in the pipeline for Black founders. Institutional capital needs to start taking more risks.”

LaRon also spoke about why the tech industry needs more diversity earlier this year.
