I don’t know about you but during the early days of quarantine, I found myself going through a lot of coffee table books and reading quite a bit on topics of interest, particularly fashion. With work picking up over the last few months, I haven’t had as much time to sit down and read through a nice book. That’s going to change with this week’s Fire Finds and the release of Stone Island’s latest hardcover, published by Rizzoli.
STONE ISLAND: STORIA launched earlier this week and it covers the entire history of the European brand. From its inception in 1982 and roots in Italian fashion to its storied history as being the unofficial uniform for soccer hooligans and eventually a hip-hop staple thanks to Drake, the book covers everything. In addition to previously unseen photographs and an introduction by Carlo Rivetti himself, the book also features major texts by Eugene Rabkin (of StyleZeitgeist fame), writer Paul Gorman and Nordstrom Men’s Fashion and Editorial Director Jian DeLeon.
And as any Stone fan knows, the badges make up the DNA of the brand as much as anything. Therefore, the book also includes a poster with all the badges created up to this point. You can pick up the book now in Stone Island stores around the world and via stoneisland.com for $90.
