I don’t know about you, but I think I’m done with seeing toe shoes around. And though many were flaunting the benefits of wearing toe shoes, new research found that your toe shoes aren’t doing anything but grossing people out.
If you’re already offended, then maybe you shouldn’t keep reading this. I’ve had the feeling for a while that something that looks so hideous can’t really be good, and I finally realized that I was right all along. There is a reason that footwear has been made intentionally to cover up your toes — and it’s not only because they look less hideous, but they actually protect you from disease and maiming. So the verdict is finally out and scientists have determined that toe shoes might not be so great for your gait. Even though these barefoot-style shoes are supposed to reduce risk of injury and improve running – because their lack of heel padding is good for forefoot landing – scientists have discovered that these shoes may not be all they’re cracked up to be.
If you’ve been thinking about acquiring some, I hope that this makes you change your mind. Really, no one needs to see your toes and you’ve been running perfectly fine all these years with regular shoes that don’t show off your toes.
