Ultra presents “Street Snaps”- a new photo series. We’re all about highlighting people on the streets of New York City who have unique, trendy haircuts with a sense of fashion culture.
It’s early winter and we’re rolling through downtown Brooklyn on the hunt to warm ourselves up with some ramen. With a quick glance, I spotted David chillin’ on a bench outside of a Trader Joe’s when I noticed his standalone mustache — something most men don’t really rock with anymore. After an intro, we started talking about his cut. His friend, Jason, owns a private studio in Hell’s Kitchen for a more intimate setting with his clientele; very opposite from the upscale salon where he used to be at.
David favored a razored hard-part for a while but now goes for a more natural style which allows him a loose and wavy look when he wants. He usually blow dries, but on that specific day, he actually rubbed seasalt through it in the shower and let it air dry. He might get his cut in Midtown but his whole look definitely says Brooklyn.
