If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like to be a kid from West Philadelphia born and raised and live in a lavish Bel Air, California, mansion, now’s your chance – we’re talking about the iconic TV series The Fresh Prince of Bel Air of course. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Will Smith has teamed up with Airbnb to give lucky fans a chance to stay in the same home the show was filmed in with Will himself serving as the host.
While fans across the country probably want to enter, due to COVID-19, only LA County residents will be able to participate in the booking. It goes without saying that strict CDC protocols will be followed. Starting September 29, groups of up to two can try to book one of five one-night stays at Will’s wing of the mansion. The available dates are October 2, October 5, October 8, October 11 and October 14. Because the series is celebrating its 30th anniversary, each night will only be $30.
What else can fans expect aside from the lavish pool and beautiful driveway leading up to crib’s doors? Well, graffiti artwork takes over the halls along with portraits and memorabilia from the show. Philly cheesesteaks are served on silver platters and apparel from Smith’s Bel-Air Athletics apparel line. Famous sneakers worn by The Fresh Prince like the Air Jordan 5 adorn the walls of the bedroom while everything from preppy jackets to Will’s #14 jersey can be found in the wardrobe. There will even be a virtual welcome provided by none other than DJ Jazzy Jeff (who’s hosting his own sold out online experience via Airbnb as well)!
This is probably the only time a native New Yorker like myself wished I lived on the opposite coast. Good luck to everyone trying to live the ‘90s dream! Enter on Airbnb here.
