This is big news. Yelp, crowdsourced business review app and website, just joined the Fifteen Percent Pledge, the campaign started by Black fashion designer Aurora James to get retailers and companies to increase representation of Black-owned businesses to 15%.

According to Reuters, Yelp claims by the first quarter of 2021, 15% of event vendors, both community and internal, would be Black-owned businesses. Yelp is also committing 15% of its Instagram content to have Black brands and 15% of their list to focus on and mention Black-owned brands.

The company launched a tag for businesses to identify themselves as Black-owned in June nd is determined to make their goal.
