The only thing getting me through the pandemic everyday is my love of fitness. I have been meeting with a personal trainer twice a week for the last seven months and training for a half marathon in between that. As a fitness lover, I am always looking for new challenges and new workouts to add to my routine, in an effort not to plateau.
Running is a great workout, but can be difficult on your joints, so I like to switch things up. I recently read that getting in 10,000 steps a day is really good for your heart, overall mood, and digestive system. Most days, I hit this number quite easily but on the off days it’s either too cold to run, or I’m too sore from weight training. I look no further than Dubai-based fitness expert, Rick Bhullar.
Bhullar has created fun, quick, low-impact, walking workouts that is streamed on YouTube. His workouts can be used for weight loss, getting fit and finding motivation. As a former dancer, he believes fitness will only be successful if it’s enjoyable and that’s what he’s done with his workouts. A couple times a week, I’ll choose his 2000, 3000, 5000, or 10,000 steps workouts and dance along with him to themed classes.
The steps are easy to pick up and are quite basic. He encourages everyone to add in your own swag and to let loose. The step calculator is displayed at the bottom right hand of the screen with the time collapsing in bottom left-hand area. And for overachievers, you can see a visual of the next step in the sequence in the upper left-hand corner.
While doing the workouts, you’ll be amazed how quickly time goes by and how much you’ll sweat just by walking. If you’re looking for a new way to spice up your fitness routine while getting your daily 10,000 steps, this could be great for you.
