Zappos is the first shoe store to tackle the lack of selection in the shoe industry for all able bodies, with their new initiative Single and Different Size Shoe Test. Regardless of age, toddler to adult, customers can purchase single and mixed-size shoes. The collection includes sneakers and slip-ons in all sizes and widths from major brands like Nike, Converse, and New Balance, with plans to expand.

Dana Zumbo, Zappos Adaptive business development manager stated in a press release:

The Single and Different Size Shoes Test Program is very close to our hearts – we wanted our community to know that we heard them, and continue to listen and innovate based on their needs and wants.

Para-athlete Josh Sundquist was there to announce the launch as well and was very proud to partner with Zappos Alternative. “As an amputee, I’ve never been able to buy a single shoe before, so this is a game-changing moment for amputees and people with disabilities,” he said.

Zappos Adaptive, an extension of Zappos, has many more products in the works to make getting dressed easier for everyone, like sensory-friendly clothing, and items designed for those in a wheelchair.
