If you’ve been on Zoom all of last year, and are somewhat fed up with it, well, you’re not alone. Someone created a new tool, Zoom Escaper, that literally allows you to “self-sabotage your audio stream, making your presence unbearable to others.” As described on its website, it’s “a tool to help you escape Zoom meetings and other videoconferencing scenarios.”

Sam Lavigne, an artist and educator, is the brains behind “Zoom Escaper,” which, as the name suggests, literally makes it possible for you to escape a Zoom meeting. This add-on allows you to add unpleasant sounds (think a man weeping or an upset baby) as well as distorted audio effects that simulate choppy internet connection, echoes, and other sound effects that make it unbearable for others. All this in an effort to help you completely sabotage your online meeting.

In order to use this add-on app, you will be required to install audio software—which is available for free— and enable your microphone for it to work. After that, all you need to do is join a Zoom call and consequently make it unpleasant for everyone.

The artist created a video tutorial that explains how “Zoom Escaper” works—if you’re really interested in using it.
